There are a variety of ways to support and enhance the excitement of Pittsburgh 250 – whether as a corporate sponsor or a volunteer/participant in the festivities!
Sponsorship
The number one goal of Pittsburgh 250 is to improve positive awareness of the 14 counties of southwestern Pennsylvania, internally and externally. Corporate sponsors have two options to support the integrated marketing initiative leading up to the anniversary in November 2008 and continuing well beyond. They may use charitable or marketing dollars.
Charitable Underwriting of the Imagine Marketing Initiative
Using charitable dollars, a corporate sponsor may provide umbrella support across the various components of Pittsburgh 250. A portion of these funds will be applied to marketing communications.
In return for their charitable support, corporate sponsors receive:
- recognition on the ImaginePittsburgh.com Web site and related published materials;
- corporate signage at significant events; and
- logo placement on advertising for the particular event/initiative being sponsored.

Marketing Through Licensed Media Partnerships
Pittsburgh 250 is licensing broadcast and print partners to provide advertising and communication programs that support the Imagine marketing initiative. Using marketing dollars, a sponsor may participate in these programs to tell its own story (e.g. corporate history, leadership in technology and/or innovation, support for community activities).
For the right to use the Pittsburgh 250 logo and creative execution, the sponsor must pay a cash or in-kind licensing fee to Pittsburgh 250 or work through a licensed media partner. The sponsor may then use the licensed material to construct its own “Imagine communication” to support commercial activities.
